【摘要】:Thispracticeoutlinesaprocedureforexaminingferromagnetictubularproductsusingthefluxleakagemethod.Ifproperlyapplied,thismethodiscapableofdetectingthepresenceandlocationofsignificantlongitudinallyortransverselyorienteddiscontinuitiessuchaspits,scabs,slivers,gouges,roll-ins,laps,seams,cracks,holes,andimproperweldsinferromagnetictubesunderinspection.Inaddition,theseverityofadiscontinuitymaybeestimatedandarejectionlevelsetwithrespecttothemagnitudeoftheelectromagneticindicationproducedbythediscontinuity.Theresponsefromnaturaldiscontinuitiescanbesignificantlydifferentfromtheresponseforartificialdiscontinuitiessuchasdrilledholesornotchesofequivalentdepth.Forthisreason,sufficientworkshouldbedonetodeterminetheconditionsnecessarytodetectandmarknaturaldiscontinuitieswhosecharacteristicswilladverselyaffecttheserviceabilityofthetube,inordertoestablishacceptancecriteriabetweenthesupplierandpurchaser.1.1Thispracticecoverstheapplicationandstandardizationofequipmentusingthefluxleakagetestmethodfordetectionofoutersurface,innersurface,andsubsurfacediscontinuitiesinferromagneticsteeltubularproducts(Note1)ofuniformcrosssectionsuchasseamlessandweldedtubing.Note18212;Thetermx201C;tubex201D;orx201C;tubularproductx201D;willbeusedtorefertobothpipeandtubing.1.2Thispracticeisintendedforuseontubularproductshavingoutsidediametersfromapproximatelyx00BD;to24in.(12.7to610mm)withwallthicknessestox00BD;in(12.7mm).Thesetechniqueshavebeenusedforothersizes,however,andmaybesospecifieduponcontractualagreementbetweenthepurchaserandthesupplier.1.3Thispracticedoesnotestablishacceptancecriteria;theymustbespecifiedbytheusingparties.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
